Louise Gold, Philip Quast, Liz Robertson, and, Ian Talbot had taken part in Shopping With The Stars 2008 at Dress Circle the previous year. Dress Circle staff Chris, Michael, and Melanie had been on duty then too, and Roy Tan had been photographing.

In the past the Theatrical Ladies Guild had several sister charities, one of these was The Music Hall Ladies Guild. A certain incident at one of their fundraising events seems to have inspired the Act 1 finale of the musical One Touch Of Venus (One Touch Of Venue (1992 Production), One Touch Of Venus (2000 Production)), and indeed the fundraising event itself is the party referred to in the tale that Whitelaw Savoury tells at the Art Student’s ball).

Louise Gold, and, Jodie Prenger (along with Julian Bleach, and, Julius D’Silva) were all appearing in Oliver! at the time of this event, and they all sing on the cast album Oliver! (Recording).
