In the past
the Theatrical Ladies Guild had
several sister charities, one of these was The Music Hall Ladies Guild. A
certain incident at one of their fundraising events seems to have inspired the
Act 1 finale of the musical One Touch Of Venus (One Touch Of Venue (1992 Production), One Touch Of Venus (2000 Production)),
and indeed the fundraising event itself is the party referred to in the tale
that Whitelaw Savoury tells at the Art Student’s ball).
Louise Gold, and, Jodie Prenger
(along with Julian Bleach, and, Julius D’Silva) were all appearing in Oliver! at the time of this event, and they all sing on
the cast album Oliver! (Recording).
