Louise Gold appeared as Mrs Ford, in Series 4, Episode 1: Thirtynothing (often written as Thirty Nothing), Recorded 11 September 1989 first broadcast nationally on BBC2, at 20:00 to 20:30 on Thursday 14 June 1990 (had previously been shown on BBC Scotland on 13 November 1989)

The location for Willie Melvin’s “home” in the series was actually writer Bob Black’s own flat.

Louise Gold, Elaine C Smith, and, Ron Bain had previously appeared in BBC Scotland’s Laugh I Nearly Paid My Licence Fee, also shown on BBC 2; produced and directed by Colin Gilbert, and for which Bob Black was one of the writers.

Clips from Laugh I Nearly Paid My License fee were included on A Kick Up The Archive, also shown on BBC2, and in which Andy Gray, Jonathan Watson, Elaine C. Smith, and, Ron Bain also appeared.

Rachel And The Roarettes, Rita Rudner, Alexei Sayle’s Merry-Go-Round, A Week In The West End, and, Transmission: Impossible With Ed And Oucho were also shown on BBC 2, as was the first terrestrial broadcast of The Alan Clark Diaries.

Elaine C. Smith went on to take part in Shopping With The Stars 2009.
