The information about this “burlesque with some of the Muppet company”, has been pieced-together mainly from an article in The Stage newspaper, dated 13 March 1980 (page 3) about Christine Pilgrim, with some additional information from a post on the Muppet Central messageboard on 3 December 2003 about this “burlesque”.

It should be noted that all the performers taking part in the burlesque worked on The Muppet Show: Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, Steve Whitmire, Louise Gold, and, Kathy Mullen in their capacity as puppeteers were all members of The Muppet Show Eight, while Betsy Baytos was one of the show’s other puppeteers, and Chris Langham was one of their writers.

Graham Binmore had also worked with The Muppets team at ATV Studios. He and Christine Pilgrim formed Entertaining Stage productions. In the article in The Stage, he is credited as George Binmore.

Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, and Louise Gold’s recording credits include: The Muppet Show Music Hall, The Muppet Show 2, For What It’s Worth, Jim Henson Presents Silly Songs, Elmo’s Lowdown Hoedown. The four of them were also among the muppeteers who appeared on The Royal Variety Performance (1977).

Stalwart Muppet singing talents: Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt and Louise Gold’s recording credits include: Born To Add, and, The Count’s Countdown. Howeverhas been some debate as to whether or not Louise Gold actually sang on the latter.

Jim Henson, Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, Steve Whitmire, Louise Gold, and Kathryn Mullen went on the puppeteer on the film The Great Muppet Caper. Their recording credits include: The Great Muppet Caper (Soundtrack album), John Denver & The Muppets A Christmas Together, John Denver & The Muppets Merry Christmas 45RPM, Favorite Songs From Jim Henson’s Muppets, Put Some Zing In Your Spring, Muppet Music Sampler, Muppet Hits 1, Muppet Hits 2, Muppet Music Mix, Christmas For Kids, John Denver Christmas, and, Music Mayhem And More.

Jim Henson, Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, Steve Whitmire, Louise Gold and Kathryn Mullen’s recording credits also include The Muppet Show Music Album, for which Chris Langham is also credited as a writer.

Jim Henson, Kathryn Mullen, Steve Whitmire, and, Louise Gold puppeteered on The Dark Crystal, for which Jerry Nelson did some voice-work.

Jim Henson, Steve Whitmire, and, Kathryn Mullen puppeteered on Labyrinth.

Jerry Nelson, Steve Whitmire, and Louise Gold’s puppeteered on The Muppet Christmas Carol, and, Muppet Treasure Island; they also sang on The Muppet Christmas Carol (Soundtrack album), and, A Green And Red Christmas.

Louise Gold and Chris Langham went on to appear on stage together in The Pirates Of Penzance (Stage production), and as members of that cast they appeared in The Pirates Of Penzance (Gala Performance), The Pirates Of Penzance (Gala Preview), The Pirates Of Penzance (Benefit Preview), and The Royal Variety Performance (1982).They also went on to work (in different guises) on Spitting Image.

Jerry Nelson and Louise Gold with an introduction by Jim Henson can also be heard on Jerome Kern The First 100 Years (although they are credited simply as ‘The Muppets’, rather than as individuals).

Louise Gold, and, Steve Whitmire went on to puppeteer on The Animal Show.

Louise Gold, Jim Henson, Richard Hunt, and, Steve Whitmire went on to puppeteer on Tale Of The Bunny Picnic.

Jerry Nelson went on to do voice-work for the UK co-production of Fraggle Rock (as well as puppeteering on the main show).

Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, Louise Gold, Steve Whitmire, and, Kathryn Mullen went on to puppeteer on The Muppets Go To The Movies, for which Chris Langham was one of the writers.

Louise Gold, Richard Hunt, Kathy Mullen, Jerry Nelson, and, Steve Whitmire went on to perform at Jim Henson’s Memorial Service.

Louise Gold and Richard Hunt went on to puppeteer on The Ghost Of Faffner Hall.

Jerry Nelson, and, Louise Gold went on to puppeteer on The Secret Life Of Toys.

Jerry Nelson, Louise Gold, Kathryn Mullen, and, Steve Whitmire went on to puppeteer on Sesame Street (in the early 1990s).

Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, Louise Gold, Steve Whitmire, Kathryn Mullen, and, Chris Langham featured on the television documentary Of Muppets And Men.

Jerry Nelson, Steve Whitmire, Louise Gold, and, Chris Langham contributed to the television documentary I Love The Muppets.

Steve Whitmire probably puppeteered on ITV’s 50 Greatest Shows.
